Brody Hunter Ruled Out of RCW Tag Team Championship Match at Heavy is the Crown

Brody Hunter has been ruled out of this Saturday’s RCW Tag Team Championship match at Heavy is the Crown after suffering a serious ankle injury.

Hunter was scheduled to team with Layla Paige to challenge RCW Tag Team Champions C.B.T.M. on Saturday, August 22 at the Dom Polski Centre, but will now be unable to compete after suffering an ATFL rupture and CFL tearin his ankle.

The circumstances surrounding the injury remain unclear.

Hunter was mysteriously taken out following promotional filming alongside Layla Paige outside the RCW Academy, with the aftermath captured by RCW cameras.

RCW Co-General Managers Dr Richard Gouda and Jimmy C are now looking into the assault and are working to gather as much information as possible to determine exactly what happened and who was responsible.

The extent of the damage has since required Hunter to undergo surgery to repair and reconstruct the injured ligaments. Hunter is now recovering following the procedure, with no estimated timeframe currently available for his return to the ring.

The injury comes at the worst possible time for Hunter and Paige.

Hunter emerged as Paige’s partner at Mean Street Mayhem #66 – From Riot With Love, making the save when C.B.T.M. attempted a two-on-one assault on Paige. His intervention made their RCW Tag Team Championship match official, setting the stage for Paige and Hunter to challenge Vincent Di Maria and Snaxx at Heavy is the Crown.

Now, just days out from the championship match, Hunter is out and Layla Paige is once again left without a partner.

With Heavy is the Crown taking place this Saturday, August 22, questions now surround what happened to Brody Hunter outside the RCW Academy, who was responsible for the assault, and what his injury means for Layla Paige’s RCW Tag Team Championship opportunity.
