After two years away from Riot City Wrestling, Ilia is back — and he has his sights set on the RCW Grand Championship.
At Key to the City on October 3, RCW Grand Champion Banjo Powers had just successfully defended his championship against Punch-Drunk Istria, who had revealed himself as the mystery opponent answering Banjo's Open Challenge.
But the night was far from over for the Grand Champion.
For the first time in two years, Ilia returned to Riot City Wrestling.
Initially, the returning Ilia appeared to have nothing but respect for the champion, stepping into the ring to congratulate Banjo on his successful championship defence.
But what appeared to be a moment of respect quickly turned into something far more sinister.
Ilia delivered a low blow to Banjo Powers, making his intentions clear and immediately placing himself in the RCW Grand Championship picture.
It was a shocking statement from a man who had been absent from Riot City Wrestling for two years.
And Ilia is certainly no stranger to championship success.
A multi-time RCW Tag Team Champion, Ilia established himself as one of the most decorated tag team wrestlers to ever compete in Riot City Wrestling, building a legacy that few in the division can match.
But this time, things are different.
Ilia stands alone.
After years of success in the tag team division, Ilia now has his attention firmly fixed on the biggest singles prize in Riot City Wrestling.
And standing in his way is Banjo Powers.
Banjo's journey to the RCW Grand Championship was anything but easy. After winning the 2026 Riot City Rumble, he finally reached the top of Riot City Wrestling by defeating Dean Brady at Heavy is the Crown.
His successful defence against Punch-Drunk Istria at Key to the City was another step forward in his championship reign.
But Ilia's return has introduced an entirely new threat.
With Battle for Supremacy XX approaching, Ilia has made it clear that he wants Banjo Powers and the RCW Grand Championship.
For a competitor who has already achieved so much in the tag team division, the opportunity to become RCW Grand Champion represents the chance to establish an entirely new chapter in his career.
Two years away from Riot City Wrestling.
A return that nobody saw coming.
And one unmistakable statement of intent.
Ilia is back. This time, he wants the RCW Grand Championship.
